Meet Mick Jenkins: The Drive Behind Sterling Performance

For Englishman Mick Jenkins, the foundation of Sterling Performance wasn't laid in a quiet workshop, but trackside at Brands Hatch. Growing up surrounded by the roar of 1960s and 70s saloon and sports car racing, he found himself captivated by two very different automotive icons: the stunning, fluid elegance of the British Jaguar E-Type and the unapologetic muscular look of the American 427 Shelby Cobra.

Decades later, those childhood daydreams evolved into a clear mission. Mick set out to build cars for the automotive purist—the driver who values raw capability and track-level performance over strict factory pedigree. Under his direction, Sterling Performance actively avoids building delicate show cars or trailer queens. Instead, Mick and his team engineer highly modified, coach-built powerhouses defined by an aggressive, widened stance and flawless fit and finish.

"The goal was to bring together the two cars I obsessed over for years," Mick explains. "I wanted an E-Type with a competition look and a rebellious attitude—combining the classic Jaguar shape with the undeniable aggressive look of a Cobra." Today, that vision is a street-legal reality, engineered not to sit in a collection, but to be driven hard.
